Classically trained and contemporary sounding, Toronto’s Amanda Morra is poised to bring a fresh new sound to the charts and airwaves with her debut album, set to be released in the spring of 2009. Amanda attended vocal training at The Canadian Vocal Academy of Music and also trained at the Cardinal Carter School of the Arts. Amanda’s music is a mix of infectious dance hooks, rich R&B undertones and intimate ballads. Having begun her formal training at the age of five working with Ian Garret (Shania Twain and N’Sync) and also working with revered music industry mentors like Elaine Overholt (Chicago, Tina Turner and Ray Charles) and Lorraine Lawson (Popstars TV series). Amanda is formally trained in jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop and has appeared in a wide range of television commercials, print campaigns, short films and has contributed voice work for several commercial projects. Amanda has been a proud volunteer and participant in "Wal-Mart Kids", a signature event for Wal-Mart. reinforcing the Company’s commitment to the Children’s Miracle Network and raising funds for children’s hospitals across Canada. Continually giving back while singing and dancing her way forward, Amanda is thrilled that she will soon unveil her unique mix of music to the Canadian music scene and the world. |
